Alexandra Hackney

This will be Alexandra's 4th marathon. She is a survivor of Juvenile dermatomyositis, a disease in children that causes skin rash (dermato) and muscle inflammation (myositis), resulting in weak muscles. Alexandra battled JDM for most of her life until the age of 23. A few years ago, she and her fiancé decided to pick up running after watching a friend run a marathon. Conditioning her body from ground zero to running their first half marathon was incredibly tough. Today, at the age of 28, she continues to live a healthy, symptom-free life. Alexandra was also featured in the July 2022 edition of Runner's World Magazine, with her story showcased on the last whole page of the magazine. She is incredibly excited to run London and continue this amazing journey.
