Darren DeMatoff

Darren is super excited to obtain his sixth star at the London Marathon in October. Although he's traveling from Chicago, he has lots of family in London and he's looking forward to celebrating this huge milestone (and hopefully PR) with them. Darren has been running the majority of his life and completed his first marathon in 1994. You can usually find him on the streets of Chicago every October, running his hometown race. He leads one of the training sites for the Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA), and he is pretty active in the Chicago running community. He leads weekly runs for their local run crew and actively works to expand running opportunities in under resourced neighborhoods throughout the city through CARA’s ‘Go Run Program. For Darren, qualifying for Boston in 2018 after 20 years of marathoning was an amazing and exhilarating accomplishment. In 2019 he ran Boston to Big Sur as well as Chicago and New York. He's planning on running London and Chicago back-to-back this year, so he can celebrate his 6th Star and 25th marathon with all his friends and family back home.
