Denise Longoria

Denise's friends call her DeeDee; her grandkids call her DeeMa.Denise had always run to stay fit, but didn’t start running Marathons until 2017 at the age of 56. She was a spectator at the Chicago Marathon and got swept up in the emotion of the day, and was overcome with medal envy. She decided If not now? When?Denise then signed up for the 2018 Chicago Marathon, running for a Breast Cancer Charity, and joined a local running club. After that, she was hooked and got World Marathon Major fever! She ran #2 New York in 2021, and will be running #3 Berlin in 2022, each time for cancer related charities. Then, she got this opportunity to #4 in London the following week. It is one of the craziest things she’s ever contemplated. But, Denise is so excited and blessed to have this experience. She has always been adventurous and loves a good adrenaline rush. She has summited Mount Kilimanjaro, trekked to Mount Everest Basecamp, hiked the Inca Trail, and swam with sharks. Last year for her 60th birthday she jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.Denise is married to her generous and brilliant husband Gary, who has accompanied her on all her wild adventures. They spend their time between 2 homes, one in the Chicago Suburbs, and another in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California, Mexico. They have 5 daughters, 2 grandchildren and a rescue dog named Lola. She runs to be able to keep up with all of them. Unfortunately her husband will have to return to the USA after Berlin. So, she is hoping to have a fun room mate in London!Denise is on IG as runningdeema. She's happy to hear from fellow Runbuk runners. She wants to wish everyone good luck training, stay safe and healthy, and see everyone in London!
