Born and raised in a Los Angeles suburb of Southern Californian, Eric's first race at age 6 began a devotion to run, despite that it was a merely 50-yard sprint.Countless races and four decades later, Eric awoke one afternoon with 3 titanium screws fusing his C5-C6 spinal cord. An agile walk a short block became virtually impossible. Yet each day thereafter, 1 more block would encourage his soul to smile. It was not the pace yet; continuing to move forward was essential to him completing IM 70.3 Zell am See (Austria) just 15 months after invasive scaring surgery.Soon after Zell and a loving respect for the ocean, Eric became a PADI certified Master Scuba Diver. Completing numerous running and triathlon races continued in various Countries, including the coveted full distance triathlon Challenge Roth (Germany). That same year at age 50, he medaled 50@50 biking, triathlon and running races of various distances, including the Boston Marathon. Boston would begin his quest for the Abbott Six Star Medal. April 2020 in London would have been my sixth. For Eric it must wait until 2022. Until, his persistent patience should serve me well.Eric was pleased to meet Prince Harry, the London Marathon Ambassador, prior running the 40th London Marathon Virtual Marathon. As one song goes, Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all. Eric wishes every runner's finish line be miles of smiles in the distant future.
