Ignacio grew up in The Andes, running since childhood chasing his father in the era before Garmins, gels, and dedicated running shoes. In retrospect, he probably ran marathons in his youth without knowing the exact distance, fueling on Coke and sugared bread. He owes his entire official marathon history to their dearest and fearless team leader, who convinced him to run his first Boston Marathon in 2011. Since then, he has been chasing the Seven Continents and 6 Majors (with two left of each). He also finished an Ironman in 2023 guided by the expert training of Coach Mauritz in their team. Running both polar marathons, the Antarctic Ice Marathon and the North Pole Marathon, will go down in his book as his highest athletic accomplishments.
