Katherine Kennedy

Kate is still surprised that she’s a marathoner because growing up she only ran within the context of other sports. After college, she slowly began to get into running, and then began to enjoy it. After two half marathons, she was ready for more and registered for her first marathon. Kate now loves the physical and mental challenge that training for and running marathons provides. She’s run 33 marathons, most frequently the Boston Marathon and the Chicago Marathon, and most notably a PR of 3:45 at the California International Marathon. While Kate has always enjoyed experiencing other countries through travel, she’s recently been able to combine marathons with international travel through the Athens Marathon and the Auckland Marathon. The North Pole Marathon will be Kate’s most outrageous marathon to date, and next on her list will be to run the three World Marathon Majors outside the US.
