Kimmy Jackson

Kimmy is new to the marathon mania club, having fallen in love with long distance running during the 2020 Covid summer. After running a couple 20 miler Saturday long runs, she convinced her husband to sign up for their 1st marathon together that fall.2021 started off with Marathon #2. A pulled adductor muscle sidelined Kimmy for a few months, but taught her the importance of strength training & that spring & early summer, she conquered 2 ultras.Her world came crashing down in July when her beloved mother unexpectedly passed away. As a way to work through her grief, she ran 6 more marathons in 2021, all of which gave her the qualifying times needed for Chicago, Boston and New York.Heartbreak came knocking again when her older brother was killed in a car accident in early December. To continue to work through her grief, Kimmy declared 2022 as her year of marathons, making it a goal to run one every month, 5 of which are world majors.After experiencing her first world marathon major in Boston, she's now even more excited for the other 4 this year as she's never experienced that kind of hype and energy before in a race & can hardly wait to feel that again.
