Marco Panfili

Marco is 47 years old and originally from Abruzzo, Italy. He has been living in Galway, Ireland for over 25 years now, with his wife and two kids. Marco took up running at the age of 23 after his older brother Angelo passed away. Angelo was an athlete and loved running and when he passed, Marco began to run with the hope of keeping his brother's memory and passion alive. To this day he has run 72 marathons and ultra-marathons combined. He has also recently completed the six Marathon Majors, ending with Chicago in October 2022. Today, Marco doesn't run a race that’s less than 42 km, the longer he runs the more time he spends with his brother and the pain and work he puts into training brings him lifelong pleasure.
