Biography

Dr. Yong Larrazabal has been a practising Ophthalmic/Refractive surgeon with Larrazabal Eye Group for over 25 years.

Currently, he is the President and Chairman of the Board of CebuDoc Group, the largest hospital group in Visayas Philippines with 8 hospitals across the region. Concurrently, he is also the Medical Director and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology in Cebu Doctors University Hospital and Cebu Doctors College of Medicine. 

He also founded the Run for Sight Foundation, a non-profit organization that hosts community programs which made him a Merit Recipient Awardee of the Cebu City Chamber of Commerce. 

 With all these achievements, he was lauded by the Cebu City Government as an Outstanding Individual of 2020.

He had the great honor to be the First Filipino to conquer the World Marathon Challenge (running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days) between February 7 to 13 2020. Resolution no. 203 was passed by the 18th Congress of the Philippines on July 26 2021 recognizing his feat. In fact, he was awarded as the first Cebuano to achieve the incredible feat of running seven marathons on seven continents in just seven days given by Cebu City Government during the 124th Independence Day Awards at Nustar Hotel and Casino last June 12, 2023.
