The North Pole will Scott's first and only marathon. The race is a follow-up challenge to his 2011 charity climb to Mt. Everest base camp and the summit of 20,305ft./6189m Island Peak. The Everest trip was in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and running the North Pole Marathon will benefit the Children's Wish Foundation. Both organizations grant wishes to children with life- threatening illnesses.
