The Antarctic Ice Marathon will be Tommy’s first marathon. He wanted to win the first marathon he competed in and so looked up winning times from around the world, saw that Antarctica was the slowest and so thought naturally that would therefore be the easiest to win. It’s this exact type of thinking that have led Tommy’s family and colleagues to label him an “absolute idiot”. However he’s also an idiot on a mission. Tommy and his mates are using the run to raise money for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia. They’ve raised over 100k so far to fund vital research into finding a cure for those effected by a spinal cord injury. Tommy wants to live in a world where everyone has the physical ability to embark on missions as stupid as this one is.
