Xuming Gu
Xuming Gu of China began competitive distance running in 2021 and has steadily broadened both speed and distance. From a debut marathon to a 100 km mountain race, his record shows consistent improvement across road marathons, trail ultras, and half-marathons. He is registered for the 777 World Marathon Challenge 2027, a seven-marathon-in-seven-days event spanning seven continents.

Gu made his recorded marathon debut at the 厦门马拉松 (Xiamen Marathon), finishing in 4:32:05.
- 2022
He returned to the road marathon at the 杭州马拉松 (Hangzhou Marathon), posting 4:09:30 — a substantial improvement on his debut time.
- 2023
Gu stepped down to the half-marathon distance, completing the 宁波马拉松半程马拉松 (Ningbo Marathon Half Marathon) in 1:45:40.
- 2024
He moved into trail ultra running, tackling the 莫干山越野跑挑战赛 50 km (Moganshan Trail Running Challenge 50 km) and finishing in 10:08:14.
- 2025
A high-volume year across road and trail. On the road, Gu ran the 中国马拉松精英排名赛 in 3:28:09, the 银川马拉松 in 3:44:56, the 南昌马拉松 in 3:30:08, and the 重庆马拉松 in 3:39:34. He also set half-marathon marks at the 兰州马拉松半程马拉松 (1:45:35) and the 绍兴上虞半程马拉松 (1:34:56). On trail, he completed the 莫干山跑山赛 35 km in 5:24:05, the 广州100越野赛 60 km in 11:56:53, the 祁连山野性祁连越野跑 50 km in 11:54:04, and the 庐山越野赛 41 km in 9:35:28.

Gu continued to push across disciplines. On the road he ran the 石家庄马拉松 in 3:29:37 and the 首尔마拉松 (Seoul Marathon) in 3:27:01, his fastest recorded road marathon to date. On trail he finished the 九寨沟环神仙池越野赛 50 km in 10:43:51 and then stepped up to 100 km at the 北京100跑山赛, completing it in 23:53:42. He also crossed into extreme-environment racing, finishing the 北极点马拉松 (North Pole Marathon) in 5:41:42.
